Sipcode is a free, open-source project with one maintainer. Help happens in public on GitHub: github.com/Anuj7411/sipcode/issues.
Common fixes
- "sipcode is not recognized" or "command not found" (also what the Codex plugin tells you): install it once with
npm i -g sipcodein a terminal. You need Node.js 20 or newer. - "Your Sipcode is older than this plugin" or an unknown command or option: update with
npm i -g sipcode@latest, or runsipcode updateto see your version and the command. - A warning that compressed Codex logs were skipped: Codex compresses older logs to
.jsonl.zst, and reading them needs Node.js 22.15 or newer. - The plugin says it needs permission, or reports no sessions while you use Codex: Codex's sandbox can block
~/.codexor~/.claude. Allow the plugin to run the same command with read access when Codex asks. - The plugin does not show up in Codex: follow Use Sipcode inside Codex in the README, then quit and reopen the ChatGPT desktop app and start a new chat.
- More answers: the FAQ and the README.
Report a problem or ask a question
Open an issue at github.com/Anuj7411/sipcode/issues/new (a free GitHub account is needed to post). Please include:
- The output of
sipcode --version. - Your operating system and version (for example Windows 11, macOS 15, Ubuntu 24.04).
- Your Node.js version, from
node --version. - The exact command you ran, or the question you asked the Codex plugin.
- What you expected and what happened, including any error or warning Sipcode printed.
Never paste log contents, prompts, code or session files. Issues are public. Sipcode's own output (numbers, errors and warnings) is enough; remove folder names you do not want to share.
Privacy problems
If you ever see Sipcode make a network call outside the two commands named in the privacy policy, please open an issue right away.
What to expect
There is no paid support and no guaranteed response time. Issues are read and answered by the maintainer as time
allows. Fixes ship in the next release on npm; update with npm i -g sipcode@latest.
